Tax Audit Analyst – Level 7

MAJOR FUNCTION
The Tax Audit Analyst is responsible for the supervision of the administration and defense of all federal and state income tax audits and projects, and for assisting the Sr. Manager, Federal & State Audits in resolving issues that involve the operations of company-owned and franchised stores.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Sr. Manager, Federal & State Audits in the administration
of the audit process, including meeting with tax authorities at the audit
and appeals levels and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Supervise the preparation of all audit workpapers, support schedules
and attachments for audit support as directed by the Sr. Manager, Federal
& State Audits.
• Assist in obtaining required information for ongoing Internal Revenue
Service audits and state and local income and franchise tax audits.
• Supervise the preparation of responses to Information Document Requests
(IDRs) as requested by federal, state and local agents.
• Interact with Financial Reporting, Capital Accounting, Franchise Accounting,
Legal, Acquisitions and Divestitures, and others at Corporate and the Brands
to gather necessary documents and data for analysis of audit issues.
• Perform tax research necessary for analysis of tax audit issues and
preparation of an appropriate response.
• Draft responses to Notices of Proposed Adjustment (NPAs) received
by Yum! Brands.
• Prepare/supervise the state amended return process for federal audit
changes.
• Assist the Sr. Manager, Federal & State Audits in the calculations
of federal and state income/franchise tax and interest reserves.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 4-6 years of practical experience in federal and state income and
franchise tax compliance and audit defense. Experience with a Big 4 CPA firm
a plus.
• BS/BA Degree in Accounting.
• CPA preferred.
• MBA or Masters Degree in Taxation a plus.
• Results-oriented, analytical, works well with others.
• Strong PC and Tax Research Skills.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Capture the essence of the whole position in one sentence.The position will have a significant impact on the success of the tax team by developing and leading international tax planning projects worth tens of millions of dollars, managing the international tax compliance process, managing the tax affairs of several large international markets, coaching and developing tax team staff and managing several large international tax functional areas including transfer pricing and international compensation taxation.
SCOPE AND MAGNITUDE: Provide quantitative data such as # of restaurants/markets,
sales, budgets, etc. Indicate size of operations for which position is responsible.
Support the directors in tax planning strategies which save the company over
$20MM in taxes annually. Manage the staff in compliance and country matters
to make sure prior and current planning strategies worth over $300MM in tax
savings are properly reported and updated to help ensure success upon audit.
Aggressively manage the current and future direction of our global transfer
pricing methodology for optimal tax savings while maintaining the arm’s
length standard. Train and oversee the staff on key projects like Pegasus
database management, continuous evolvement of the legal entity structure,
quarterly reporting, etc. Get involved in preparation and review of over 150
tax returns (Form 5471) for foreign corporations, branches and partnerships.
Assist with calculation of annual available foreign tax credit estimated to
be in the range of $35 million. Research tax issues for various tax planning
strategies worth millions of dollars. Manage the tax issues relating to the
cross charge of stock options which exceed $25MM per year and any other international
compensation-related issues.

5. Responsible for international tax affairs of SOPAC (Australia/NZ), MENAPAKT,
and South African businesses including coordinating international tax planning
transactions, reviewing FAS109 calculations, reviewing 5471 compliance and
being the main point of contact for all tax-related queries from the field.

of Yum! Brands international markets and will also provide tax accounting,
IRS audit and tax planning support related to those markets.

Responsible for managing all aspects of US international tax compliance and ensuring timely and accurate completion thereof. In addition to the management of the overall process, the position will be responsible for providing assistance with the preparation and review of approximately 70 Forms 5471, 100 Forms 8858 and 10 pro-forma Forms 1120 for our internationally focused US corporations. This position is also involves responsibility for supporting tax accounting and tax planning activities in approximately 8-10 foreign markets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Internal Communications Manager will be a key contributor in setting the
strategic direction for internal brand communications and ensuring that all
medium (print, event, electronic, etc.) are fully integrated within the system.
Equally important, the incumbent ensures that the focus and execution of such
communications directly support YUM! Brand essences and “blue chip”
initiatives. In addition, this position is accountable to the brand executive
team as a partner with them in developing strategic brand messaging and individual
messaging.
Specifically, you'll be responsible for:
-Developing and executing the strategic plan for integrated communications to all YUM! audiences system wide, thus helping ensure alignment and execution around the brand essence and “blue chip” initiatives.
